I was reading an article about the president at the G20 summit in Seoul and had an interesting thought. First, here is a snippet from a Politico article by Carol E. Lee and John Maggs:
Obama was unable to achieve a free trade agreement with South Korea, vowing to keep talking to get a better deal for U.S. auto makers. And after meeting with the leaders of Germany and China, he continued to meet resistance from the two countries about reducing their trade surpluses with the U.S. to give a boost to American manufacturing, putting the best face on a compromise that only calls for the goal of lowering them.
Now look at the highlighted words above.
Does a free trade agreement sound
socialist to you?
It is funny that the right-wing media conveniently drops their evil-lefty narrative when Obama does something like this - in fact, they seem to lose all the socialist/Communist rhetoric. I'm surprised I haven't read right-wing attacks
against the free trade agreements for potentially hurting domestic automotive sales...
The moment you bring up NAFTA though...
ReplyDeleteI find it funny. Market manipulation is only good when they promote American markets!
