Elections Out Of Touch With America?

Turn on Fox News and you will probably hear Sean Hanity or Glenn Beck complain about how out of touch the president is.  Listen to Rush Limbaugh spit on his microphone and you will probably hear him complain about the First Lady's vacation to Spain.  The right seems to make a mountain out of a mole hill every time the president does something, but I saw a headline at Politico that made me scratch my head: "McCain outspends Hayworth 3-to-1 in July"

In just one month, the McCain campaign had spent over $3.5 million on his election while his opponent had spent $1.09 million during the same period. Billionaire Republican Meg Whitman reported a couple weeks ago that she had spent more then $99 million in her campaign to become California's governor. The list can go on and on.

This just makes me wonder: in the age of YouTube and viral videos, why are pundits like Limbaugh not complaining about how out of touch these candidates are by spending millions while Americans are experiencing economic problems?

I understand that a minimal campaign isn't going to get anyone elected, but I just think this illustrates just why right-wing commentators are just full of garbage when they make their attacks against Obama and the Democrats...
