Newt Gingrich Attacks Kagan, Applies Double Standard

Newt Gingrich, along with the rest of the GOP, has been trying to get President Obama's Supreme Court, Elena Kagan, pick tossed out. He seemed to focus heavily on the right wing talking point about Kagan denying military recruiters from Harvard Law School, but here is where the double standard and conservative hypocrisy comes into play - Gingrich attacks Kagan because Harvard had accepted money from Saudi Arabia.

Charles Johnson posted on True/Slant a piece that shows just how hypocritical Gingrich's comments are.
On the one hand, Harvard accepts money from Saudis. Saudi Arabia, by the way, executes homosexuals, Saudi Arabia represses women, Saudi Arabia doesn’t allow Christians or Jews to practice their religion, but Saudi money is fine.
As Johnson points out, Gingrich's attacks seem strange considering the Republicans is as anti-homosexual as the Saudis and the Republicans have been increasingly advocating a single religion - Christianity. Just check out Big Government and see the anti-Islam/pro-Christian comments made, and keep in mind that Breitbart's sites have been feeding the right-wing fringe with talking points for some time now, and in turn, the right wing fringe has been putting pressure on the conservative establishment.

By Gingrich's logic, pretty much every conservative judicial nominee should have been disqualified because they support an agenda not unlike the Saudi's.

Johnson also points out that Gingrich is one to talk, considering Saudi Prince Alwaleed bin Talal is part owner of Fox News, and Fox News has kept Gingrich on the payroll for the past ten years.
